The "Day of Pentecost" is a Christian observance commemorating the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and believers, as recorded in Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 2.

This outpouring occurred fifty days after the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Pentecost marks the empowerment of the Church and the beginning of its public witness to the world. During this event, the Holy Spirit descended upon the believers with the sound of a rushing mighty wind and tongues of fire, enabling them to proclaim the gospel boldy.

Pentecost is often celebrated through worship services, prayer, and teachings that emphasize the presence, power, guidance and work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believers, who are "THE CHURCH."

We invite you to read the following scripture verses associated with "Pentecost."

  • Acts 2:1-4 - "When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."

  • Acts 2:38"Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

  • Acts 2:41"Then those who gladly received His Word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them."

  • 1 Corinthians 12:13"For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit."
